Trainers

Greta Marchus:

Greta Marchus has trained and competed with purebred and mixed breed dogs (All Americans) for over 34 years.  Showing in 7 states, she has titled her dogs in conformation, obedience, tracking, agility, hunting, flyball and working certificate and has earned over 30 AKC titles over the years.   Ch. Starcliffe’s Easy Elegance,UD,TDX,WC,JH,OA,OAJ,VCX was owner handled from the classes to Westminster Kennel Club in New York.  His agility career was cut short from an injury while running in excellent but he continued to live to the ripe age of 14. Greta has been a trainer in the past for Cleveland All Breed Training Club, Kinley’s Training Center, Lake County Humane Society, her own Rockwood Dog Training Center  and now Canine Career Center.  She has worked with both people and dogs with disabilities.  People in wheelchairs, one armed handlers and training a dog to respond to a voice computer for its disabled owner are just some of the challenges of the owners.  Blind dogs moving into a new home, deaf dogs that needed help to become good family pets and rehabbing a 3 legged dog are some of the challenges of the canine part of the team.  All in all, it was very rewarding.

Greta founded Heel’n Time Dog Drill Team in 2000 along with Bridget Telencio.  This group does shows and performances demonstrating novice obedience to music and are always looking for new members.  She has taken Heel’n Time to show at Lake Farmpark Working Dog Weekend, the Captains games, nursing homes, Woolly Bear Festival and local events and parades.

Currently, Greta is training Gold’n Point Snappy Dresser, CD, FDCH,TDI in tracking, agility, open obedience, hunting and conformation.  Greta’s partially deaf rescue Golden, Gracie, is learning new skills and continues to be a delight.  “In spite of some setbacks in the past, I will continue to surround myself with dog people that love all breeds.  How wonderful is that!!!!
